White Sox Beat Rockies 4-2 in Finale: Run Line Cashes, Over Fizzles

The Chicago White Sox closed the 2026 regular season with a 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at Rate Field, finishing 84-78 and heading into the postseason on a winning note. Colorado's finale dropped the Rockies to 58-103, capping a fourth straight season of heavy losses. The game turned on Colorado starter Kyle Freeland, who lasted just four innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits, including two home runs.

Our premium card had the right side. The White Sox moneyline and CWS -1.5 both cashed, with Chicago winning by exactly the two-run margin the run line required. The total was the miss: a projected 8.74 runs never materialized, and the game landed at six, well under 8.5. Anthony Kay did his part for Chicago, holding Colorado to one earned run over five innings.

On the props, Randal Grichuk over 1.5 total bases was the clean winner, and he cleared it emphatically โ€” a home run, four total bases, two RBI. Hunter Goodman over 1.5 total bases went the other way: 0-for-3 with a walk and no total bases against the soft matchup we flagged. Munetaka Murakami over 0.5 walks also missed; he finished with a single and no free passes.

The takeaway is a familiar one. Backing the better team at a short number worked, and the Grichuk lefty split read was sound. But the over and the Goodman power angle leaned on a pitcher getting hit hard โ€” and Freeland's damage came on two homers, not the sustained traffic that pushes a total past 8.5. Matchup edges on individual bats held up better than run-environment bets in a low-scoring finale.
