Braves Eliminate Phillies 6-2 Behind Harris' 3-Run Homer

The Braves are moving on, and the Phillies are going home. Atlanta beat Philadelphia 6-2 on Thursday night at Truist Park to take Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series, riding three home runs โ€” including a three-run shot by Michael Harris II โ€” to eliminate their division rivals.

Our premium card went 1-2, and the results were instructive.

The moneyline missed. We backed Philadelphia at a modest road price, leaning on the model's lone positive expected-value flag. The model projected a near coin-flip โ€” Phillies 3.8, Braves 3.6 โ€” and near coin-flips lose roughly half the time. Atlanta's power bats made sure this one landed on the wrong side.

The run line hit. Atlanta +1.5 was our directional call and it cashed comfortably, with the Braves winning outright by four. That was the cleanest read on the board.

The total missed. We took the Under 7.5 against a model number of 7.43. The game finished with eight runs, and three Braves homers blew past that number early.

On the props, Michael Harris II over 0.50 hits cashed in a big way โ€” he went 1-for-3 with a home run, four total bases and three RBI, exactly the profile we bought. Bryce Harper over 1.5 total bases also got there, finishing with two total bases on the night. Austin Riley under 0.50 hits held: he went 0-for-2, though he walked twice and scored.

The takeaway: backing a true coin-flip moneyline is the weakest use of a card. The run line and the Harris prop both came from a clear, specific edge โ€” a home underdog getting a run and a .294 hitter against a soft matchup. Lean harder on those, and treat near-even moneylines as what they are.
