Brewers Rout Dodgers 6-2, Take 3-0 NLCS Lead as Snell Fades
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, pushing the NLCS to 3-0 and leaving the Dodgers' season on life support.
Blake Snell gave the Dodgers six innings, but the zero-home-run season did not survive the night: three Milwaukee homers turned into four earned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts and two walks. Robert Gasser was the story on the other side โ five scoreless innings, three hits, three strikeouts, one walk, no home runs โ and the Brewers' bullpen did the rest.
Our premium pick: Dodgers moneyline โ LOSS. We framed Game 3 around Snell being the leverage point of the series, and he was โ just not the way we called it. The run line did land: Milwaukee +1.5 โ WIN, and the over โ WIN cashed as well.
Props. Robert Gasser over 3.5 strikeouts lost โ he finished with three, one short of the number, in exactly the five-inning outing we thought Milwaukee would let him have. Jackson Chourio over 1.5 total bases won comfortably: one hit, a home run, four total bases, clearing the number on a single swing. Blake Snell over 6.5 strikeouts won with nine punchouts in six innings, even as the homers sank the Dodgers.
Takeaway: the process on Gasser was sound โ the strikeout rate, the leash, the matchup โ and he still landed on the wrong side by a single punchout. That is the nature of a coin-flip prop. Chourio's lefty split and Snell's swing-and-miss profile both held up exactly as the numbers suggested, which is the kind of signal worth trusting again when this series continues.
