Bills Outlast Rams 37-34 in Monday Night Shootout
The Buffalo Bills walked into Los Angeles and left with a 37-34 win over the Rams on Monday Night Football, an instant classic that came down to the kicking game. Los Angeles moved the ball all night but special teams mistakes โ a recurring theme for the Rams this season โ helped decide it late.
How our card graded out
We sold Buffalo plus the points, and that side cashed. The model's projected scoreline of 25-24 leaned toward a tight, low-scoring game, and while the final margin was close, the number was never in doubt once the Bills won outright.
That same projection called for the Under, and that was a clear miss. The two offenses combined for 71 points against a total of 54.5 โ a swing of more than 16 points. The yardage-versus-points gap we flagged on the Rams cut the other way: Los Angeles finally turned all those yards into touchdowns, and Josh Allen answered every time.
The moneyline call on the Rams also went down. We needed a Los Angeles win outright, and the special teams letdowns that have dogged this team all year showed up again at the worst possible moment.
The takeaway
One game doesn't rewrite a model, but it's a reminder that totals in these cross-conference showcase spots can get away from you fast when two elite quarterbacks are trading haymakers. When a team's scoring output has lagged its yardage all season, regression can arrive in a hurry โ and it usually picks the biggest stage to do it.
